How can I obtain one of these ratings? I assume that you have to play in ECF rated tourny’s, but what tournaments offer me this opportunity in the near future?

If you went to both of these, you would have played enough games to get a grade next year. (Even one might be enough – I’m not sure how many you need to play).

I don’t know of any tournaments in Kanto coming up soon, though.

Yeah, ECF grades, unlike FIDE ones, don’t change monthly but yearly.
